Kidney & Cardiac Chronicals: February 2013

We got the call on 2/19 in the evening and drove to SLC. Hit white-out conditions on the way, but made it safely. Kidney was transplanted on 2/20.

About Us

We are Chris and Kim Ross, and we live in Eagle, Idaho, with our two furry friends Digit and Dusty. We moved to Idaho from the east coast (with a brief stop in Colorado) in 1998.

Chris is in his late thirties, and he has been having serious medical issues since first hospitalized for a cough in the summer of 2001. This turned out to be Congestive Heart Failure and Renal Failure. He has unique responses to the various treatments he receives. For example, dialysis caused an improvement in his eyesight. It took three trips to the Emergency Room for his appendicitis to be diagnosed, and by then it was gangrenous!

Because of his youth and the seriousness of his illnesses, he is often decades younger than the other patients in the waiting room or in the rehab group.

Navigating all of this is an adventure!

TRANSPLANT COMPLETE
